Acoustic Noise Cancelling® (ANC) Mode Switch |
Allows pilots to choose from three modes of noise cancellation to adjust the spectrum of “noise” they hear. |
Bose noise reduction technology optimizes pilots’ experiences by fading
background distractions. Reducing low-frequency noise allows users to listen to communication audio at lower, more comfortable modes.
Users can choose from three modes of noise cancellation. Low mode improves interpersonal communication outside the intercom. Medium mode is designed for typical jet aircraft, providing sufficient active noise cancellation for clear and comfortable radio communication. Medium mode also meets the latest ARINC recommendation for noise reduction in jet aircraft. Finally, high mode provides a better experience in louder aircraft with Bose’s best intercom signal-to-noise ratio to date. |
Active Equalization |
Electronic circuitry automatically shapes and equalizes incoming audio signals. |
Clean, fully optimized sound quality enhances intelligibility and clarity of intercom audio while still sounding natural. |
Easily Replaceable Ear Cushions |
Ear cushions easily detach and reattach. |
Provides a more stable, comfortable fit and allows pilots to detach and reattach cushions for cleaning or to share headsets by quickly replacing cushions. |
Electret and Dynamic Microphone Options |
Noise cancelling microphone provides clear communication with reduced background noise. Electret and 5 ohm and 150 dynamic microphone options are also available. |
Reduces background noise from loud environments in radio transmissions, enabling improved communications and intelligibility. |
Power LED and Battery-Life Indicators |
Lights indicate when noise cancellation is turned on as well as the remaining hours of battery life (green: healthy; amber slow flash: 8 hours remaining; red quick flash: less than 2 hours remaining). |
Provides users with a real-time battery-life indication. With fresh batteries, seers can expect at least 25 hours of continuous use when Bluetooth® is being used and 45+ hours without Bluetooth®. |
Control Module |
Features left and right channel volume controls, a noise cancellation mode switch, a battery-status LED light, a power switch, audio prioritization circuitry and two AA batteries. |
The module fits comfortably in users’ hands or can be stored in a pocket or hung using the included hanger or cable clips. |
Limited Five-Year Warranty |
Covers parts, labour and second-day return shipping expenses worldwide for malfunction not caused by user. |
Customers can feel confident in their investment and with Bose Corporation. |
Digital Active Noise Reduction |
Fully digital active noise reduction control loop. |
Allows for a smaller form factor and the ability to easily change and tune performance via the ANC mode switch. |
Carrying Case |
Custom-designed case for headset and all accessories. |
Provides a convenient way to carry and protect the headset, control module, cables and accessories. |
Left and Right Ear Cup Markings |
Markings on the speaker covers identify the left and right ear cups. |
Quick and easy identification of the left and right ear cups improves proper placement, fit, stability and comfort on the head. |
Cable Wires |
High-quality upper and lower copper cables include up to 17 separate conductor lines to enable power, signals and data transfer to and from the headset. |
Copper cables with a Kevlar core keep cable in place, and flexible insulation ensures durability and TSO compliance in the toughest environments, including TSO flame-resistance. |
Swappable Down Cable |
Allows users to switch boom microphone and down cable from left to right side without tools. |
Positions the boom microphone and down cable for improved comfort and cockpit ergonomics. |
Cable Clips and Control Module Holder |
Secures cable and control module out of the way while maintaining easy access. |
Improves ergonomics by keeping the cable out of the way and the control module in an accessible location. |
Aluminium Alloy Headband and Centre Pivot Spring |
High-strength and lightweight headband with a constant-force centre pivot spring. |
Reduced clamping force allows for better noise-reduction performance and comfort across all head sizes. |
Replaceable Headband Pads |
Easily replaceable headband pads for increased comfort, better hygiene and to account for wear over time. |
Contoured headband pads made from unique fabric chosen for its extended wearability, breathability and durability. |
Adjustable Headband with Size Adjustment Markings |
Size-marked adjustable headband that fits all head sizes. |
Easy to adjust for all head shapes and sizes with lightweight, yet durable, components. |
Control Module |
Contains headset controls and power source. |
Simple interface controls the functionalities of the headset. Visual indicators and markings with tactile buttons improve ease of use. |
Adjustable Boom Microphone |
Boom mic that both rotates and flexes. |
Allows users to position the mic in front of their mouths or out of view when not in use. It is designed to deliver clear communications and remain stable through head movements or turbulence. |
Communications Bypass |
Provides full communications function, even when the headset is turned off or batteries are depleted. |
The headset provides communications (microphone and audio) with or without batteries, assuring users won’t miss important communications. |
Various Plug Types to Fit Most Aircraft |
Dual plug, XLR (5 pin), LEMO (6 pin), U174, U384 and TP108 (soon to be released) models available. |
Standard connector interfaces work with most common aircraft. |
Updateable Firmware |
The ability to update firmware via USB connection inside the control module. |
Allows for potential new functionality, enhancements and compatibility improvements. |
Compatible with Multiple Intercom Systems |
Usability across multiple TSO-certified systems, including Honeywell, Becker, B38Garmin, PS Engineering, Rockwell Collins and others. |
Connection and electrical/acoustical design assure compatibility with several different systems. |
Tap Control for Talk-Through Communication |
Optimizes the ear cup that is “tapped” for voice communications outside the intercom. |
Allows users to optimize hearing within voice range for enhanced voice intelligibility and improved communications with those not using an intercom. |
Contoured Headband and Ear Cup Design |
Aesthetically pleasing modern design made from high-strength custom aluminium alloy and aerospace plastics. |
Wearers can feel confident in the way they look without sacrificing durability. |
Configuration Switches |
Stereo/Mono, auto on and off, talk-through tap control, normal/low volume sensitivity and reversionary mode switch (switches vary across models). |
Allows the end-user to configure the headset via six independent switches inside the control module. |
Bluetooth® Connectivity |
Includes HFP, A2DP, AVRCP, BLE and Multipoint with the ability to add more profiles in the future. |
The latest connectivity to Bluetooth® devices allows pilots to use the headset with popular EFBs and other third-party audio systems. |
Bluetooth® Prioritization Switch |
Allows users to select either Bluetooth® audio mixed with ICS audio or for ICS audio to temporarily mute Bluetooth® when present. |
Gives users a choice in how they mix auxiliary audio, as well as the ability to disconnect power from all Bluetooth® circuitry. The “off” switch enables pilots to achieve a sterile cockpit environment by completely turning off the bluetooth® radio and chip set. |
Left and Right Ear Cup Volume Control |
Primary ICS audio can be independently adjusted in the left and right ear cups. |
Allows for independent ear cup adjustments to meet users’ preferences for both mono and stereo/binaural systems. |
Durable Design |
Built and tested for use in environmentally demanding locations and use cases. |
The headset can be reliably used in indoor and outdoor locations. |

The headset can be powered from whichever source is most convenient for the user. |
High Ambient Noise Compression |
Even in high-noise environments, the headset can compress noise to avoid overloads that cause most headsets to produce audio artifacts. |
The headset can provide more reduction in high-noise environments than ever before. |
Air Vent and Direct Wind Noise Rejection |
The Bose design offers enhanced air vent and direct wind noise rejection on the microphones outside of the ear cups. |
The headset allows for better performance than ever before in environments with more direct air flow from air vents (3db more or 70% improvement). |
